Summer Fun

This summer was crazy busy and extremely FUN (which is why i haven't had time to blog about anything!!). I am thankful for the experiences i had and the friends i made. It truly was one of the best summers of my life. I made friends that are unforgettable and memories that will last a life time. It was hard to see the summer end but im super excited for the adventures that lie ahead.

So I was way nervous for this summer, not going to lie. Adam was leaving and i was worried i was going to take it really hard and have a horrible ending of my great summer. I was completely wrong. It turned into the best month and a half of my life.

So these girls pretty much rock. I don't think you could find a better group of friends even if you tried. No drama, always fun times, and we were COMPLETELY comfortable around each other. Brin called me the night i was coming home from Logan when Adam left and said she wasn't going to let me be sad. The next night i was invited to party with them and she wasn't taking no for an answer. Like how great is she?? Pretty fantastic!! It all started with "Initiation" and girls you know what i mean!! I don't think i have laughed harder in my whole life but every time we were together i think i broke that laughing record. They make me happy and i miss them like crazy!

This girl and i have been through alot. Becoming friends in 9th grade over something so silly and no matter what, she has always been there. She is the kind of friend where you may not talk to or see each other every day, but you are always thinking about them and love them and would be there for each other no matter what! She is the reason why i am the way i am and i couldn't imagine life without her.

Who would have thought to float the canal with penguin floaties! We sure did!!

So we were super pumped that Batman was coming out and so we bought Batman shirts from the little boys section at walmart! We definitely rocked our shirts i would say!

They introduced me to a freal which is delicious!!

I was super excited to get to see these cute girls! Kim, Karlie, and Megan are darling and im so glad i have classes with them so i can see them tons. Kim and i became friends in Math last fall just by sitting next to each other ranting about our lives. What started out as Math buddies turned into best buddies and i would definitily call her one of my very best friends. She understands everything and is always there. She is such a beautiful, nice, fun girl and i love everything about her! So glad i have gotten to know her more and that we are hanging out more!

So best friend cousins is totally the way to go! Syd and i were close before but this summer we hung out tons and i grew to love her even more. We spent tons of time on the river jet skiing and just being silly.

One thing Brin really wanted to do this summer (don't ask me why) was to go to the skate park all dressed up and ride our scooters. I was questioning her sanity at first, but oh man was that fun!! I even rode up the wall about a half an inch and i was pumped. I think the legit skaters sitting on the side were afraid of us but thinking what losers we were on our scooters that cant do anything. ha we enjoyed it though. Definitely an experience i wont forget!

We took a girls trip to Salt Lake before everyone parted ways. We got to stay in the Kimball thanks to my grandparents. The first night the four of us were crammed into a studio apartment so three of us were on the bed and KK on the couch. I dont think we slept much but we had fun!

Party faces on and ready to roll!!

So we went shopping at City Creek and Syd wanted to go look at rings at Tiffany's. They all were trying on beautiful fancy rings and i decided i liked the super plain ones with just a diamond. The sales man pointed to one and said like that and offered to let me try it on. I put it on my finger and instantly fell in love! The man continued to tell me that that was the most expensive ring in the whole store, $17,000!!! Can you believe i had something worth so much on me?? I wanted to pass out and couldn't get it off fast enough. It was beautiful but holy cow soooo expensive!!

KK is an amazing artist! We all wanted Henna tattoos (another item crossed off the bucket list) so we bought a kit and had her draw them on us. I was so worried my dad was going to kill me i hid it from him for three days. He was a little disappointed but i didn't care, i thought it was legit!

Wildlife Wednesdays became the thing to do when we were at walmart one night and we found our shirts in the little boys section. (I don't know what our deal is with the little boy section but we seem to find some real killer deals that we can't pass up!)

So this picture just about sums up our summer (minus syd). We had so much fun. I was so happy all the time. These girls don't know how much they have impacted and influenced my life. I miss them every single day but know i will get to see them soon!!

Fair week was so fun! The concert was great especially since Bruce hooked us up so we didn't have to pay! We didn't know many of David Nails songs but it still was fun to be there.

Rodeo Time!

Brin scored us tickets to President Monson's Birthday Party. Probably one of the coolest things i have ever gone to. How cool that there were so many people there to celebrate his birthday all because they love and support him. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang some of his favorite songs and people spoke. Being in a holy place surrounded by good people really does feel good. Just what i needed at that time!

My 19th Birthday was on Sunday this year so i wasn't planning on doing anything special, just another day. My friends had other plans. Saturday we were all going jet skiing so i headed over to Brin's house to find a surprise!! They made me a cake from the funnel cake they got me at the fair and made cute signs. Sure love them tons!

That night we went to the rodeo dressed up as cowgirls! We even got to throw hats and Frisbees out of the back of the pickup where Syd just about fell to her death!

Rachel and i got asked on a group date which was fun to get to spend time with her. We went fishing and Rach was quite a champ! I did catch a fish though and was so proud. We cooked it over the fire later and I ate it.The fish was ok, not the best, but still good since i caught it myself!

Steadmans was a blast! Slipping down the hill even when it was raining was fun. Im sure we could have stayed there forever but when it was so dark we could no longer see we had to go home. We make anything fun though!

They have a slide in their house and let us slide down it.

My favorite picture of all time!

Brin...
The girl who became one of my very best friends due to a very random awkward txt last year asking to live together.
The girl who made my summer the best thing ever.
The girl who was always down for everything - no matter what.
The girl who is beautiful inside and out.
The girl i miss incredibly much living here in Logan without her.

Having to learn how to be in Logan as just Melanie instead of Mel and Brin is hard and weird. We pretty much were attached at the hip last year. I know we are where we need to be but it doesn't change the fact that i miss her every single day!

So glad for great friends that have impacted my life so much. Friends are huge to me. I believe that friends are a huge impact on our lives so if you have good ones you will probably end up all right. I think i have the Best ones any one could ever ask for. Im one lucky girl!! :]
