the things finals will do to ya

End of semester is a stressful time. Trying to cram in last minute studying and wrapping everything up for semester can get defiantly get to you. It can even make you do some pretty crazy things...

The other day i was studying for my math final and trying to finish my take home part of the test. Brin and i were home working away and it was a very productive day. We got a little hungry and thought a grilled cheese sandwich sounds really nice. We got to work making our lunch and in no time had our sandwich grillin away. I tried to mention to Brin that hers was getting a little bit toasty and she said that's the way she liked it so i didn't think anything more about it. I turned my back to get something out of the cupboard and before i knew it her sandwich was smoking all over and our fire alarm was yelling at us!!! What do we do!!??  ha well Brin picks up the pan and starts waving it back and forth and I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off not having any idea what to do. Good thing Ky and Braden were home to save the day. Braden came running out to our rescue and fanned off the smoke alarm and had us open the door to fan out the apartment. Our first time burning anything and we survived!! Thank you Braden.

Monday night Ky was fed up with finals. To be quite honest i was too. Studying for six hours can get real old. We needed a pick me up so we headed to walmart to get a carton of ice cream. Trying to decide on one flavor for all three of us is complicated so of course we all needed our own ha. Brin and i settled on a smaller sized carton by Ky went for the big guy. Even if it means gaining a freshman 15 we defiantly felt better after.

On our way to walmart!!

P.S. I did not mean to make this hideous face!!

Us enjoying our amazing ice cream!! :)

Were so close we even feed each other!! (Brin looks a little excited to get her bite ha!!)

Wow Ky when did you acquire such an appetite??

And then tonight after being fed up with yet another six hour study session we all headed to Texas roadhouse to celebrate Chrissy's 20th birthday!! It was a nice break and some delicious food. Happy Birthday cute girl!! Thanks for letting us share your special day with you!! Love ya!!

Me, Brin, and Liss enjoying our dinner!! Love these girls they are so darling!! :)

Ky decided to look beautiful like always and she wore her heels. Walking up the stairs was a bit of a challenge for her so she needed some help so i volunteered. Gotta love that girl!! What would i do without my amazing roommates during such a hectic week!! Love you girls!!

A pretty great day.

Today was a great day.
It started out with my last class of Human Development (glad the class is over, sad to leave the people though). I have made some pretty great friends and am sad to not see them as much anymore. We had to take a picture to celebrate us making it through the class together.

Marci and Mckaylee thanks for being such cute girls!!

When i got home from class Brin was headed on a run to the temple and i gladly joined in. Who on earth would pass up a chance to get to see the temple and walk on the beautiful grounds. I kinda have a soft spot for this temple since it is the place that my parents chose to be married in and because of that temple i am able to be with my family forever!! Brin and i ALWAYS have great talks about everything which is normally what happens with your best friend but i just love getting to know her more and more everyday and am sad to be away from her for three weeks for Christmas break. We made it back from the beautiful four mile run in no time to see that the neighbors weren't home.

Ok quick story, we have never met our across the hall neighbors before which is sad of us but between the two apartments we collect a ton of newspapers. It started off that we would just kick them back and forth to each other randomly throughout the day until one day they were all just gone. Thinking nothing about the newspapers again until Tuesday night at midnight when we get a horrifying knock on our door or should i say pounding and the doorbell was rung at least 20 times. Brin and i ran out to see who it was only to find no one there but a pile of newspapers laying there for us to find. Ha bring it on boys this is war.

Ok so we got back from our run and decided it was payback time. We started off by taping newspaper all over their door and then hanging some of the rolls from the ledge of the door frame. We posted a sign that said take your dang newspapers, rang the door bell, and ran. A surprised neighbor opened the door and laughed. Yep their payback came later last night wrapped in a box saying merry Christmas but i would defiantly have to say that ours was so much better!!

Their door after the damage had been done!!

Brin and i ready to ring the door bell!!!

Me hanging newspapers from the door!!

After we recovered from our intense payback we showered and got ready to go to an early showing of the movie New Years Eve. Some company was putting it on so it was free but you had to come early. Brin and i arrived about an hour and a half early to ensure our seats. After being scanned down front and back to make sure we had no cameras we sat in our seats and played a few games of 7 little words to keep us entertained. I noticed that lots of people coming in had 3-D glasses and Brin and i forgot to get some. A girl came and sat by us with her friends and i asked her if she had gotten some glasses. She said no but that she would run and get some from all of us. The movie started and Brin and I pushed on the huge 3-D glasses to let the magic begin. About half way through the movie i realized no "magic" was happening. I hadn't noticed any 3-D parts so far, and to make matters worse when i took them off the movie was actually a whole lot clearer. I leaned over to Brin and told her that i didn't think it was even a 3-D movie so she looked around to see if anyone else was having problems with their glasses. Instead we found that out of the whole entire movie theatre we were the only two dumb enough to still have our glasses on. Yep were geniuses!!!

Oh well we at least got a pretty dang cute picture out of it and some laughs!!!

We were a little starving when we got done so we splurged and bought us some Arby's for dinner. And a night like this just couldn't be complete without a Walmart run right? Right! We got a few essentials (mostly milk for Brin) and headed home. Not without having our picture taken first though. We spotted some crazy Christmas decorations and had to try them in our hair! What crazy girls!!

All in all i say it was a pretty great day.

Lets get Wacky!!

For the longest time I have wanted the card game wacky 6 to play here at school. I asked for it for Christmas and my mom found it online but i have to wait to open it until Christmas :(. The other night us good roommates decided we better go to FHE but like usual we were late and then we were matching so of course we HAD to take some pictures.

Us in the car with out watching head wraps and high ponie tails.

Showing off out nice gloves to keep us warm on our short trek to the church!

Ky and I sittin shotgun together!!

Well we barge into the church giggling and laughing so loud like usual and find that everyone is standing right there listening to a girl give a devotional ha ops. But we broke off into groups to play some games and we got into the group to play Wacky 6!!! I was so excited and Ky and i were a great tag team. We pretty much dominated everyone and cant wait to play again after Christmas. I sure love my roommates.

33 days later...

So you know how in November the boys don't shave for the whole month and call it Noshember. They grow nasty facial hair and have an excuse not to shave for a whole month. Well sometime in October Brin and i got a little competition going on to try out Noshember on our legs. Well we started a few days early but we made it. Tonight at midnight Brin and i got in our spandex and started a bath. We sat on down and went to work weed whacking our legs. I feel like a woman now. You have no idea how hard it is to plan an outfit around your legs. Sundays were a pain in the butt, boots, leggings or tights, and long skirts were my best friend. Well i think tomorrow i will go hot tubbing since i am now able to yippee!! My dad was so upset at me that i was growing leg hair like a man so don't worry dad I'm all shaved up now!!

Here are some weekly shots of my legs. ( I am slightly embarrassed that these are on facebook and my blog, so please do not judge me!!!)

After the big shaving!!! Oh it feels sooo good to have girl legs again!!

Preparing to get down to business!!

Oh look how nasty the collection of leg hair got on our shower wall!!

I will never do Noshember again, look how happy i am to shave!!!

Yes we were soooo excited to finally start looking like girls again, good bye leg hair!!

Soooo Sick!!

Well Noshember has come and gone and i am proud to be a participant of it this year but do not worry, it was a one time thing. I will NEVER do this again!! But it defiantly makes for a great blog post!!

Just a little Christmas spirit!

We were all feeling a little blue since its soon Christmas and we aren't home to enjoy all the Christmas decorations at home so we decided to decorate our humble abode. We started by taking some star lights and hanging them above our kitchen cabinets. They looked real nice especially since half of them weren't working. Then we hung some ornament balls all over our ceiling since we had no tree yet. Our stockings are all hung up under the windowsill. The next day one of Brins friends came to Logan bringing with her our lovely Christmas tree. One branch was hanging off of the tree and half of the lights were working. Our ornaments were old child ornaments which makes it even cuter. My favorite is the care bear section on the right side. Not going to lie it look a little like white trash but that's what makes it funny and one of a kind. Next we got on Pinterest to see how else we can decorate our already cluttery home and found a way cute peppermint wreath that we just had to try making. Well we defiantly have the spirit of Christmas going on in our apartment. I can't wait for Christmas. Its the most wonderful time of the year.

Brin and I hanging our star lights!!

Our cute Christmas tree!!

And i thought i wasn't crafty, look at this wreath we made!!

P.S. It isn't a Christmas decoration but Brin did decorate my door with sticky notes telling me she loves me after i had a bummer day. Its off of our favorite you tube video boys will be girls with our own special little twist. She brightened my day when i walked into my room and found these notes. Gotta love my best friend.

P.S.S We have wanted to do this since being here and tonight we finally did!!! We took a picture on the little kid statue outside of the education building and boy do we fit in!! I love college!

A month to be thankful

November is a month to be thankful. Being in this beautiful place every day gets me thinking a lot and i want to think of one thing each day to be thankful for. I'll post it at the end of the month so it's not little ones each day. Hopefully it's not too long and bores you out of your mind!! Here goes.

Today I am Thankful For...

November 1st
Today I am thankful for nature. We went on a picnic today and it's so beautiful. Everything is so amazing to me. I Love the colorful leaves, the brisk fall air, being able to see your breath in the morning, being able to run to the temple to see how beautiful it looks in the fall, just everything about it is beautiful to me. I am thankful for the changing seasons to keep life interesting.

November 2nd
Today i am thankful for institute. Brin and i trekked up to our institute class only to be spiritually blow away. Brother Maughn is amazing and i have grown to love that man. He has such knowledge of the gospel and there isn't a class that i don't leave crying. I am so thankful for the gospel in my life and the knowledge i have of it. I am thankful for the ability i have to learn more each and every day because i defiantly have a long way to go.

November 3rd
Today I am thankful for college. I am thankful for the experience I have to better myself with education, I am thankful for the experience of living on my own to learn life skills I will someday put to use, I am thankful for the opportunity to make new friends each and every day, and I am thankful for the memories i am making here with friends and roommates that i love so much. The new friends I am especially thankful for are Kim and J Car. Kim is in almost all of my classes and I know i would defiantly not survive without her. We are going into the same program so for the next million years of our college existence Kim and I are going to schedule to be in classes together. She is such a cute girl and i am glad i have the chance to get to know her better. Now J Car is a crazy! I just love him. He is almost as weird as I am and he makes everything fun. I sure love that kid and will be real sad to see him leave.

November 4th
Today i am thankful for roommates. I have NO idea what i did to be so lucky but i swear you will never find as good of roommates as i have. How is it that we have not gotten into one single fight yet? How is it that we are best friends and can talk about everything? Becca I look up to so much, sometimes she seems like the mom I am missing so much. Kyler is darling. I love talking to her, I love her stories, I just love her and am so glad to be her friend. I will miss those two so much when they decide to leave. :( And then there is Brin. How can I live 10 minutes away from such an amazing girl and not even know her all growing up. The weirdest thing is that we were even friends when we were little, we played dress ups together and danced together. She is my best friend now. We share everything. I tell her everything and i trust her so much. Her husband better know that we are a packaged deal!! I love my roommates more than anything!!!

November 5th
Today I am thankful for family. My family surprised me last night and came up to stay in Logan since Brit and Ridge played in Springville on Saturday. Then this morning bright and early my mom picked me up and we went and watched them play ball all morning. Brit and Ridge played very well and it was so fun to watch them. It was also so fun to see everyone from home, I even got to see my favorite young women's leader Candy! I don't realize how much i miss my family until i see them!! I love laughing and joking with them. I am so excited that i get to be with them for forever. I don't know what i would do without them!! Grandma and Grandpa Utah and Masha came too so it was so fun to see them. I just love my family!!

November 6th
Today I am thankful for testimonies. I love fast and testimony meeting, it normal makes me tear up a bit. A guy that was on the football came to our ward since they had gotten home from Hawaii a few hours earlier but he really wanted to take the sacrament and to bear his testimony. One line in his testimony stood out to me. It is worth it. It's worth it to live the gospel, it's worth it to say your prayers, it’s worth it to read your scriptures, and it is worth it to be a Mormon. I loved his testimony it was just what i needed to hear. I love fast and testimony meeting!!!

November 7th
Today I am thankful for a clean house. We have kinda been slacking lately on cleaning so Brin, Ky, and I decide to do some serious cleaning! Our house instantly smelled better and it felt so good to be surrounded by cleanliness. At home i would always have "organized piles of mess" as i would call them and my mom would be so mad. I knew where everything was in its own pile but my mom wasn't a fan of that. I was real worried i would be a slob here at college but I have actually changed. I am a lot like my mom now and am a clean freak. It makes me thankful for a mother that for the past 18 years of my life has done everything for me and i totally took it all for granted. I know that having a clean house is something i defiantly will have for my own family and am thankful to be learning life skills here at college that will help me throughout my life.

November 8th
Today I am thankful for Brin. Who could ask for a better best friend. Today i was having a nasty day i didn't know what to wear or what to do with my hair. No worries, Brin had it all under control. She helped me find a shirt to match the jacket i wanted to wear and a cute thing to put in my hair. She is always just doing the little things to make my day better. There is always a note left around the house brightening my day. She is always txting me making me feel important and when i get home she even is excited to see me. She lets me tag along with everything she is doing! I just love the darling girl i am lucky to call my roommate. I know she is an answer to much fasting and praying. I love my roommate and best friend Brin and am SO thankful to be able to get to know her better.

November 9th
Today I am thankful for Judy. Brin and I went to Morgan to see her cousin open his mission call. Brin totally knew how to get most of the way there but was a little confused on the last part. We pulled over at a gas station to ask for some directions, only to get lead astray by the crazy clerk who lied to us!! Two hours later we were lost, hopelessly lost. After many tears and a few choice words we found our way to her crazy family and some loving grandparents that made everything ok. Thank heavens we had Judy (her GPS) to guide us back home!!

November 10th
Today I am thankful for a warm big bed to sleep in(even though my beds only a twin its way bigger than what i had to sleep on last night!!) Tomorrow night is the BYU vs. USU basketball game and if you want a good seat you have to camp out. Brin and I got us a tent to sleep in but when we opened it up it was a super tiny tent. The next problem is that four of us had to sleep in it and one of the four is Mark. I had a little problem and got claustrophobic real bad but it was worth it. This totally is part of the college experience and i wouldn't trade it for anything but it really made me thankful for a warm house to go home to and a big warm bed to sleep in.

November 11th
Today I am thankful for sports and exercise. We have been camping out the past couple nights just so we can get into a basketball game tonight. I love watching sports, that’s what i have grown up with and am so thankful for the body i have that was able to play sports and be active all my life. Being here i can't really just get on the line and have coach Kerbs tell me to run a ladder or do a ball lap, I have to exercise on my own. I am really enjoying running, which i have all my life, but i especially enjoy running to the temple. It's amazing to me how i can run even when i don't think i can or don't feel in shape enough to do it. I am grateful for the body i have been blessed with to do all the activities i love to do!!

November 12th
Today I am thankful for the temple. Mark and i were studying for our huge biology test on Monday and decided we needed a little break so we took a drive and we happened to stop at the temple. I love looking at the temple, it is one of my favorite things to see being here and so close to it. It makes me so happy to know that because of that temple, my family can be together forever. I am thankful for the knowledge i have that of forever families. I know i defiantly wouldn't want to be without the whole crew up there in Heaven, what would i do without each and every one of them!? I have no idea. I am thankful for the opportunity and the blessings that come with going to the temple. I am thankful for the feeling i get while being in the temple. The temple is the most beautiful place to be and i am so glad there is one so close to me.

November 13th
Today I am thankful for nail polish. I didn't paint my nails that often when i was home, but being here with triple the amount of colors we paint our nails at least twice a week, sometimes more! I love the bonding time it gives me with all my roommates. We talk and giggle and just get to know one another more. Plus when we are done our nails come out looking pretty dang cute. I love the bright color it brings into my life. I love to look down and see bright pink or sunny yellow color on my nails. It reminds me to be happy and that life is good!!

November 14th
Today I am thankful for missionaries. I love getting letters from missionaries because they are so positive and even if you are having the most horrible day ever they just make your day. Today I got a letter from one of my favorite cousins ever, Kolby. He sent me a picture and wrote about his mission. I miss him more than I thought and it was nice to get a letter and that he was able to trust me and talk to me about what is going on. I look up to missionaries so much because they are all such good examples to my three younger brothers. I am so thankful for their examples in my life and for the letters they write to brighten my day!!

November 15th
Today I am thankful for where i live. In Oakridge we got the best apartment, 1E!!! We are on the top floor right next to the clubhouse. I love being so close to the laundry room, the treadmills, and especially the mailbox. All my laundry is done and it smells divine! I got a little restless at like 11 so i headed over to the clubhouse for a late night run which was amazing. We check the mail at least once a day just in case one of us has a letter. Being so close to everything is so nice and i am very thankful that i was lucky enough to live where i do.

November 16th
Today I am thankful for my mom. I love my best friend more than anything and it has been really hard to be away from her. Getting to go home for the weekend to see her is even better than Christmas to me, and i still tear up a bit when i have to leave to come back to school. I love that we still keep in contact through txting (ha which we do EVERY single day) and a phone call a couple times a week. My mom is my role model, the person i look up to most. I know I’d defiantly would not be the person i am today without my mom. I love her more than anything and am so thankful for everything she has done for me!

November 17th
Today I am thankful for technology. I have no idea what i would do without my cell phone and my computer. It's what keeps me connected to the world and especially to the people i miss back home. There isn't a day that i don't txt my mom! I miss knowing what’s going on and being there with everyone. Getting random txts make my day and phone calls are even better. I am thankful for my laptop to do assignment at home and to creep people on Facebook! I have no idea what i would do without technology.

November 18th
Today i am thankful for snow! I love when i wake up and look out my window to see the ground and trees all covered in white. It makes the world a beautiful place and makes me happy. I love the changing seasons. Snow reminds me of home and how exited I am to spend a whole month with my family. It reminds me of snowball fights with my crazy siblings. It reminds me of drinking hot chocolate after and sitting next to the fire. I love the snow and the memories it brings back!! I love seeing a white world.

November 19th
Today I am thankful for laughter. My family came again for Brit and Ridge’s ball games and I don’t realize how much I miss laughing with those crazy brothers of mine. Everything is a joke and we are constantly teasing and joking one with another. This is one of my favorite things about my family and I realize I miss this a lot. I’m constantly laughing, it’s what I do and it’s even better if it’s done with people you love!!

November 20th
Today I am thankful for November. This month I have been in such a thankful mood and I appreciate EVERYTHING! I love thanksgiving and am thankful that we celebrate it to just remember the little things to be thankful for and the things we take for granted.

November 21st
Today I am so thankful for a car. I got to go home today so I get a whole week to see my family and I have not been this excited in a long time. I am thankful to have a car that can make it all the way home with no problems (except when we take the wrong exit AGAIN and get a little lost!!) Without it I would either have to ride the bus home or become a bum to try and hitch a ride so I am very thankful for my car.

November 22nd
Today I am thankful for work. I am thankful that my dad taught me how to work growing up and am thankful for a job. Being at school, there have been days I feel very lazy and worthless. I love coming home and going into work with my dad and doing hard physical activity. I feel like I accomplish something and I think it makes me appreciate my money more since I work hard to earn it and then I pay for school with it so I take my education more serious. I am thankful for my dad who provided me with a job because I honestly love to work for him!

November 23rd
Today I am thankful for a fire place. I love sitting in front of our fire and keeping warm on a cold night or early in the morning when you still want to be in your bed. I miss having our fire being at school and I love getting to use it when I am home.

November 24th
Today I am thankful for good food. Its thanksgiving today and we got to go have a nice home cooked thanksgiving dinner that was delicious. Being home this week been amazing since I get to be a little kid again and have my mom care for me. I have been in heaven eating all her good food and not having to cook for myself even though I have been learning to do so for myself while I have been at school. I love good food and am thankful for a mother to cook for me.

November 25th
Today I am thankful for Christmas. I got home from work and all the nativities were up and our tree was ready to be decorated with ornaments. I love the feel of Christmas. The yummy smells of Christmas treats, how all of us are so happy and get along, Terin and Ridge soooo excited that Santa has come, everything about Christmas is magical and I love the month before December 25. It doesn’t get much better than this.

November 26th
Today I am thankful for my blog. I really wanted to keep a journal while being here at college but I am the worst at sitting down and writing in it, I never take the time. I am on my laptop all the time and it is so convenient to just be able to write stories down online so someday I can have them all to remember and to pass down to my children.

November 27th
Today I am thankful for roommate talks. We went a whole week away from each other over thanksgiving break so getting back home to my wonderful roommates was so exciting. I couldn’t wait to hear everyone’s stories and I even cried in one of Kyler’s happy stories (ha I’m a bit emotional!) But I sure love my roommates and missed our talks.

November 28th
Today I am thankful for my legs. I love walking home every day from school. It’s just a short mile walk but it is a time for me to clear my head, have some alone time, and just take a break from the busy world around me. I am thankful that I have healthy working legs that allow me to do this.

November 29th
Today I am thankful for Just Dance and a WII. Brin brought hers back from home and we have defiantly been putting it to good use. It’s a great form of exercise for us since we can do it for hours and are a bit competitive at it! I’m even sore from the past few days from playing.

November 30th
Today I am thankful for a razor. I have been participating in Noshember this last month and am so excited that in a few hours I will be able to shave my legs again. How did people in the olden times do it I have no idea!? My dad is appalled by my leg hair and I think he is thankful for the end of November so I can shave. Oh what crazy things we do at college.

11/19/11

Oh I Could Just Kill You RIght Now

So tonight Brin and i thought we would get a few more episodes of lovely Michael Schofield in before we headed to bed. As we finished our last episode and were just laying in bed talking, the conversation changed to what would happen if someone came into our house to get us. We were all jokes until we heard a noise and then really freaked out! I turned to Brin and said in case someone is here just know i love you ok. As i crept toward the door and slowly opened it and peaked around the corner i heard a voice, a real creepy kind of voice. I looked into my room and what did i see!!! A MAN!!! In my room and i had no idea how he had gotten there. I screamed the loudest i had probably ever screamed in my whole life (trust me it was loud) and then fell into fetal position and started bawling. And come to find out guess who the dumb head was in my room!? Ya it was Teague!!! What a jerk!! Brin had to calm me down while i laid on her bed and bawled for five whole minutes and sat there shaking for a while after while Teague just was laughing. I could have killed him! The show we are watching is creepy enough and Teague just added to me being freaked out. Thanks for the scare Teague your a real gem!!!

11/12/11

It was all worth it!!!

So Brin decides that we are going to go to Morgan on Wednesday to watch her cousin open his mission call. She knew how to get part of the way there but we were planning on Judy to help us make it safely there. As we started, Judy wouldn't let us put in the addresses and boy were we pissed. We stopped at a gas station only to get horrible directions from a crazy lady!! Two and a half hours later (it only should have taken one hour!!) we end up in Morgan. We watched her cousin open his call, visited her grandparents, and got our tent!!! The BYU vs USU basketball game was on Friday night and we were camping out!!!
We got home, got dressed in eighteen layers of everything to stay warm through the night, and headed up to the HYPER field to camp out!! When we opened up our tent we found that it was a four man tent (big enough really for only two people) and we were going to put four people in it and one of them was Mark Knobbe. We got all situated and boy were we cosy. It started out a little bit chilly but by the middle of the night we were all stripping. I even got a little claustrophobic and had a freak out in my sleep. I don't think we slept much but it was fun! The next night wasn't as bad we had a little more room since Brando didn't camp out with us but it was still a small tent!!

Our tiny tent!!!

The four of us squeezed into our tiny tent! That's how we slept all night!!

See really it should have been just big enough for Brin and I!!

Me guarding our tent while everyone went home to get the rest of the stuff they needed!

Brin and I getting all our warm gear on before camping out!!

So we thought all the fun was over after the two nights of camping out but boy were we wrong!! We had six hours of waiting in line to do before we could even get into the game!! It was a long time but it was so worth it!!

Waiting in line for hours just to get into the game!!

The group of us waiting to get in!

After waiting for forever we got into the game! We were on row seven on the half court line!! What amazing seats, so worth all the camping out and line waiting!!

Brin and I waiting for the game to start!!

Our tent group after the 69 62 win over BYU!! What an amazing game. Our fans are so crazy. Some of the chants were pretty mean but it made it fun! We were standing the whole night and i had no voice left after the game. What an experience, I love college!!!

P.S. SO it defiantly was worth it ha look at this picture!!

Today this picture was on the front page of the Statesman (Utah State's Newspaper!!) How legit huh!! I'm on the front page of the newspaper ha what a game!! :)
