Garrard Reunion

I have the most amazing family in this whole wide world. I love them so much. We are all close and we laugh and have a good time no matter what. The Garrard Reunion every year is awesome! When i was younger we would have tent pitching contests for the winner of a sweet trophy Grandpa made. There are always crafts, fun games, and tons of delicious food! Oh and lets not forget, there is always a competitive game of volleyball and kickball. We have had some pretty funny experiences with kickball. Syd getting knocked out by the ball, aunt Nat taking out the tree trying to catch Teague's ball, and Isaac dropping his pants to go the bathroom right in the middle of the field. Volleyball is always fun too. If Zach isn't getting his shorts button stuck on the net or Uncle Dennie isn't doing his awesome serve then some other random thing happens. We have such a great family and i am so thankful to be forever with them!

Normally, I'm one of the kids. They always save me a seat at the little kid table and im always playing toys with them. Dacx and Dane are my little buds. Sure love those two cuties tons!

Oh the classic Mule ride with Grandma!

Sure love these two beauties. I wish i got to see them more, especially Kenz because we hardly see her. Its the best when your cousins are your best friends. Grandma says they are the best kind because they last an eternity and i would have to agree!!

Love this girl so much. So glad this summer we got to spend so much time together and become closer. I have missed her since she left to college!!

Oh how i love little Ave. We hung out lots at reunion jumping on the tramp and swinging. She even invited me to come over and watch Cinderella with her! She is such a doll. :]

So McKell is amazing. We were all taking family and while we were waiting for everyone, McKell just snapped a few of our family. They turned out AMAZING!! We loved them tons. thanks a million McKell!

Ha how to keep three boys happy while taking pictures?? The Nacho Libre pose!! We are such dorks!

So glad this family of mine is stuck with me for forever. I kinda love them tons and couldn't imagine life without them!!

Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel, Push Along

I have honestly never wanted to go on trek before. I was kinda negative about it actually. My home ward was going to Martins Cove this summer, and my dad was the young mens president so he had to go. He couldn't convince either of my brothers to go with him and he didn't really want to go and experience it without any of his kids so he asked me if i would like to go. I didn't really want to go but i did want to spend time with my dad and three days off of work was sounding really nice. Looking back it honestly was one of the most amazing experiences i have ever had. I learned alot of lessons about myself and others and just life in general that helped me to grow as a person and i am so thankful for that.

My dad and i were the Ma and Pa of a group and we had the best group ever. Our flag color was red so we named ourselves the rockin rojos. Our group was always ready to go and so positive and we all got along. On the bus ride there i leaned over to my dad and i told him that if a certain girl was in my group then i would pull my hair out, i just didn't have enough patience to handle her. Ha thats what you get for speaking to soon because she was in our group. I learned real fast not to judge people. First impressions are usually false and we need to give everyone a fair chance. This girl and i became pretty close and i grew to love her.

We got the opportunity to do a women's pull where just the women in our group had to pull the wagon up the hill by ourselves without any men helping us. This was symbolizing all the women that had to do it alone if their husbands or fathers had passed away or were gone fighting in a war. That was so hard to walk away from my dad even though i knew he wasn't leaving. Just imagining the women really doing it was so hard for me. As you can imagine, i was an emotional wreck! That pull was one of the hardest things i have ever done. The men were standing along side of us just watching us not being able to help and to be quite honest, it was hard!! Going up hill with our whole group was difficult but just the women, that was hard. We did it and what an accomplishment. I learned that everything is easier with a good attitude. The groups that had good attitudes didn't complain or dislike it as much. Some of our ward had bad attitudes and the whole trek was not a good experience for them. Life is supposed to be enjoyed. No matter what you do have a good attitude and it will be so much better.

There are three statues next to Martins Cove made for the rescuers of the group that helped carry them across the water. My dad was asked to talk about them and he got very emotional talking. He talked about how Kyle didn't want to go on trek because he didn't think it had anything to do with his eternal progression. My dad talked about how he thought long and hard about it and no trek isn't going to ensure your going to heaven, but it does help to surround yourself with good people on holy ground doing what you know is right. He also talked about the rescuers in our own life. The Robins tried so hard to get Britton to go on trek by buying him a mess kit and making him a candy gram, and in a way they were like his own personal "rescuer". We all have rescuers in our own life, those people that we turn to and that are there for us no matter what. The biggest rescuer we all have is our Savior Jesus Christ. He has rescued us all and is just waiting for us to accept it. This hit me hard. To see my dad so emotional and to hear what he was saying was so touching to me. That experience strengthened my testimony so much and i was so thankful i chose to go on trek to have those opportunities with my father.

Being in Martins Cove was so amazing. The feelings i felt there were so amazing and i am so thankful to our pioneer ancestors for all they did for us. The next Sunday I went to church with my family because i didn't want to go to singles ward and they called me out of the audience to bear my testimony! Ya i should have listened to my mom who told me i should go to singles ward. That's what you get for not being obedient right? There were also three farewells in our ward so there were TONS of people there. I was totally terrified and i shook the whole time but it was good the bear my testimony. Trek was amazing. I would totally go again. Its all what you make it.

We got the afternoon off on Tuesday and went and played on Independence Rock which was sooo fun. The wind was blowing so bad that it would blow you from rock to rock. We ate good food the whole time and it was just a wonderful experience.

My dad was super pumped about his cool vest even though he looked like Pancho Villa instead of a pioneer! :]

At 4:00 A.M. right before we loaded up the charter buses. We looked good a pioneers!!

What a great experience. I sure loved it and the time i got to spend with my dad!

See ya in Two Elder Talbot

I thought saying good bye at the end of school was hard... Let me just tell ya that was nothing compared to saying good bye for two years!! I'm so proud of Adam though, hes going to make an amazing missionary. The people in Texas are sure lucky!

I got to go down to visit him a few days before his farewell so we could spend a little time together before he leaves. It was honestly one of the funnest weekends of my life!! We did so many fun things and just being with him and his family was amazing.

All his stuff ready to go!

On Friday he took me on a date to Lagoon. This was one of my all time favorite dates ever! It was quite hot but it didn't matter. We laughed and giggled and screamed and just enjoyed the day together. He sure spoiled me!!

I was kinda nervous to ride the Rocket as you can tell but it ended up being one of my very favorite rides ever, i even went back a second time to do it again!

We then rode the Ferris wheel as it was getting darker. That kinda freaked me out being up so high since i am afraid of heights but it was sure fun! What a great day!

On Saturday, Adam and i went with all his family to the Hogle Zoo. That was so fun with his nephews who are absolutely adorable. My favorite was the bird show and i wasn't a huge fan of the reptile house, it kinda freaked me out.

That night, Adam's mom, Jill, and I put Bethanie's (his sister) hair in these curler things for the farewell the next morning. She looked like a total hottie when we were finished! I sure love B tons. Taking them out the next morning was an adventure. The first curl was about two inches long. It was the tightest tiniest curl i have ever seen. We laughed so hard. We got them all out and relaxed and loosened and it looked really cute! It sure made for a funny morning.

This is probably one of my favorite pictures ever! Sure going to miss this cute guy but i know he is where he needs to be and that makes me happy! Thanks for all the wonderful times over the last six months Elder Talbot!! See ya in two!

The Mr. and Mrs.

Kyler did it!! The wedding finally came and she was the most beautiful bride i have ever seen. I honestly have never seen someone more happy in my whole life. I got the awesome opportunity of being a bridesmaid and wearing a beautiful dress. What an amazing weekend. Im so happy for her and Braden and am thankful for the awesome example they set for me. They are the cutest couple ever and make me excited to someday have this opportunity for myself!!

Oh just waiting for them to come out the doors!!

Adam got to go through the temple with them to see the marriage. That was a pretty cool experience and im glad i got the chance to spend time with him.

I love when he comes to see me!! :]

Yippee!!!

We love her so much and will definitely miss living with her next year! Thanks for being such a great roomie Ky Love ya tons!!

We may be two of the strangest girls alive but we sure know how to have fun!! :]

So cute!! Can't wait for my turn!!

Shoshone Falls

Teague had a list of things he wanted to do before he left on his mission and one of them was to go to Shoshone Falls. Our whole family took a picnic lunch up there and enjoyed a Sunday afternoon together. It was beautiful, maybe a little hot but sure was a perfect day. Family is everything to me.

Love them all!! :]

Wow what a beaut!!

Good Luck Elder Smyer see ya in two!!

Shes a doll! Love her!!

No day is complete without a rolling down the hill contest. And of course guess who the winner was?  ME!!

 What a perfect day!!
